Whether you’re choosing the perfect buying agent when purchasing a home, or an experienced listing agent to help you sell your current home, who you choose to represent you will make a massive difference on your selling experience and how much you net from the sale of your home.

So what are some of the things to look for when interviewing an agent to list and sell your home?

Do they have experience in handling the sale of your property?

The sale of your property is a significant decision, and you’re relying on the experience and expertise of your agent. That’s why it’s important to determine how long your agent has been in business and if they have the knowledge to represent and guide you through the process.

An expert listing agent can help you understand next steps, mitigate potential risks, and represent your best interests throughout the transaction.

Their experience will be invaluable if any problems come up, and they’ll be able to refer you to a strong network of professionals for all aspects of the sale, including lawyers, movers, and financial advisors.

Do they have a good understanding of the local market?

Selling a property in your neighbourhood can be very different from selling in an area on the other side of the city.
