In fact, it only takes 51 minutes on average to travel from Burlington GO Station to Union Station in the mornings! But the accolades don’t end there.
In a recent study by the Globe & Mail, Burlington was ranked as the #1 Top Livable City in all of Ontario, and 5th overall in Canada. The study showed that Burlington had high ratings for raising kids, welcoming young professionals and newcomers, midlife transitions, and retirement. It was the only city to even make the top 20 list for the province of Ontario!

You’ll be happy to know that despite the fact that Burlington ranks so high on the livability scale, real estate can be more affordable than the City Of Toronto.

Based on August 2024 statistics from the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB), here are the average prices for property types.

These statistics show that if you’re in the market for a semi-detached or a townhouse, you can buy for 20% less than in the City of Toronto.
Interestingly, if we look at the August 2024 statistics from the Cornerstone Association of Realtors, the affordability for these property types is consistently better, except that townhomes in Burlington show a price point that is 23% less than townhomes in the City Of Toronto.

The proposal is still under review with the municipality, but the developer and city staff are working hard at turning this grand vision into reality.
