For example, Toronto District Christian High School is a well-known private Christian high school located in Woodbridge, offering a faith-centered curriculum. Vaughan is also home to the Toronto Waldorf School (in Thornhill Woods), which provides Waldorf pedagogy from preschool through high school. Other private options nearby include Villanova College (Catholic prep school in King, just north of Vaughan) and Leo Baeck Day School (Jewish day school, in Vaughan’s Thornhill area).

Post-secondary and beyond: While Vaughan does not have a large university of its own, it has a growing post-secondary presence. Niagara University (a U.S.-based institution) opened a branch campus in the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, offering graduate programs in education and business. Also, Vaughan is on the doorstep of York University. Many students in Vaughan attend York for undergraduate studies, commuting only minutes from home. Colleges like Seneca, Humber, and Sheridan also have campuses within a short drive or transit ride, so Vaughan residents have plenty of options for higher education and continuing education in the vicinity.
