There are a number of projects to note when it comes to development and planning.

A four tower high-rise development by the lake is under proposal that would bring over 1,600 units to the corner of Charles Street and Watson Street West, with commercial and retail space. Earlier in 2024, the Town of Whitby and the Government of Canada reached an agreement to expedite the construction of 650 homes over the next 3 years with $25 million dollars in funding from the federal government.
