There are several developments that are in the works for Guelph.

The Guelph Innovation District (GID) is a massive 328 acre mixed-use development on the city’s east end that will include a mix of residential homes, parks, and commercial venues. There are plans to include an elementary school in a future phase.

Recently, City Council gave their approval to proceed with the construction of a $115 million community centre called the South End Community Centre (SECC) just behind Bishop Macdonell Catholic High School. The centre will offer twin ice pads, an aquatic centre and teaching pool, and many more facilities to serve local individual and families.

Aside from the accolades of the University of Guelph, the city is known for many of it’s highly-ranked schools. In fact, according to the Fraser Institute, there are two schools in particular that rank in the top 100 of all schools in the province.
